Quick answer: No official directions are published online. With 30 capsules sold as a 30-day supply, one capsule a day with breakfast is the likely serving. Read your label first, and check with a pharmacist if you take dementia medicine, blood thinners or aspirin.

Safety checks before your first capsule
Talk to a doctor or pharmacist first if:
- You use a cholinesterase inhibitor for dementia (donepezil, rivastigmine, galantamine) or anticholinergic medicine; huperzine A acts on the same system.
- You take anything that affects clotting: warfarin, apixaban, clopidogrel, daily aspirin or high-dose fish oil. Ginkgo can add to the bleeding effect, so pause it two weeks before any procedure.
- You live with epilepsy, asthma, COPD, a slow pulse, a heart block or a peptic ulcer.
- You are treated for a thyroid condition, take sedatives, or take antidepressants.
- Your memory has changed noticeably in recent months. Get that checked first; vitamin B12 deficiency, thyroid disease, sleep apnea, depression and medicine side effects are common, treatable causes.
- You are pregnant, nursing or younger than 18.
Stop and get advice if you develop nausea or vomiting, heavy sweating, a slow or irregular pulse, blurred vision, unusual bruising or nosebleeds. Fainting or chest pain needs emergency care.
